Balikumbat Cultural and Development Association, BADO hall, was last Sunday September 25, 2011, the venue for the launch of campaigns for Biya’s reelection bit in Balikumbat Sub Division, a traditional ally of the CPDM in a traditionally opposition Northwest Region. The launch of campaigns for the October 9, 2011 Presidential elections in Balikumbat coincided with this special constituency’s Joint Section Conference that was held to assess the state of the party before elections and to give feedback to militants on the outcome of the just ended 3rd Ordinary Congress of the CPDM from the 15-16, September 2011 in Yaounde.Opening the campaign, Section President, Dingha Ignatius Bayern told the teaming militants how happy the newly reelected National Chairman and CPDM candidate for the October 9 elections, President Paul Biya was of the constant support he received and continue to receive from them. Dingha Ignatius told them how through his vote at the Congress all of Ngoketunjia II special Constituency voted for President Biya’s reelection as National Chairman of the CPDM and now are ready more than ever before to support him retain the Etoudi seat. The section president was excited because his militants have resolved to go from door-to-door to convince the few fence sitters in Balikumbat to not only vote their candidate Paul Biya but also to make sure Balikumbat wins by 100%. He promised to do all in his position as Section President to see to it that campaigns are done in order and that everything that both (campaign materials and money) are shared equally among all the 50 subsections that make up the special constituency. Both the YCPDM and WCPDM Section Presidents of Ngoketunjia II, (Balikumbat) promised to roll off their sleeves and let things done so Balikumbat maintains its front line position in the Northwest. Former MP and Traditional ruler of the Balis, Fon Doh Gha Gwanghi told his subjects the importance of staying true to themselves and not letting anybody deceive them as the only person who can continue to support Balikumbat in its development effort was President Paul Biya. Fon Doh regretted the fact that Balikumbat’s unconditional support from Biya has sometimes attracted envy and jealousy from some quarters but that Balikumbat remained unyielding and as far as he lives will continue to support President Biya. To this effect he promised that although Hon. Banmi Emmanuel was the Central Committee campaign manager, he, Fon Doh, was the overall campaign manager in his fondom as he intends to go from village to village, quarter to quarter, compound to compound and house to house to fish out votes for President Paul Biya. The climax of the event came with the announcement of the news that Balikumbat brought in the lion’s share from the just ended CPDM Ordinary congress with three members of the Central Committee. The presentation of the members revealed that President Biya has once more decided to reward militancy in Balikumbat as Fon Doh, frontline militant was reelected substantive member and Mme Sama Magrette elected as new member with Section President Dingha Ignatius Bayern appointed alternate member by the National Chairman of the Party. Celebrations, especially of Fon Doh’s reelection had started as early as Saturday September 24, 2011 with his triumphant entry into Balikumbat and greeted by gunshots, dance groups and hundreds of Cpdm militants and elites across the region.
