KUMBA : Senator, MP donate materials, foodstuffs

Sanitation cans, soap, bags of rice and onion, cartons of sugar worth over FCFA 8 million, were handed to the three subdivisions of Kumba.

Senator Andrew Otte Mofa, Questor of the Senate and Honorable Lawson Tabot Bakia, Secretary, Bureau of the National Assembly, last weekend stormed Kumba with a heavy consignment of anti covid 19 materials and truckloads of foodstuffs worth over FCFA 8 million. The duo that fought tooth and nail to win over the city of Kumba from the dominance of the opposition party in the last elections, are matching words with actions. They had promised to transform the lives of the inhabitants and make Kumba an admirable city. The quantity of items donated spoke volumes. Buckets, hand sanitizers, face masks, are aimed at helping the population bar the way to covid 19, while the heavy consignment of foodstuffs is for the less privileged population of Meme.
Given that the Muslim population occupies a greater segment of the population of Kumba, the people’s representatives equally handed over cartons of sugar, bags of rice, milk and tomatoes to enable them have a great celebration of the up coming Ramadan feast.
Respecting administrative protocol, the various Divisional Officers and mayors received on behalf of their subdivisions.
Senator Otte, section President of Meme II, urged the population to come together and work for the development of Kumba. “ We fought a difficult battle to win back our city from opposition in the last elections. This is the time to prove to the world that we are better than the opposition. I am calling on everyone to put hands on deck so that we can foster the development of our Division. We must come together as one person inorder to succeed“.
Honorable Lawson Tabot Bakia, section President of Meme IA, pleaded with the population to respect the various hygiene measures and maintain social distancing. The donation according to him is just the beginning as many good things are in the pipeline.” You people voted me as your representative in the National Assembly. I’m can assure you that there is no office in Yaounde that I wouldn’t enter to fight for the development of Kumba. It is our individual responsibility to transform this city through our elected mayors. I want to personally appreciate the enormous job of our administrative authorities in ensuring that our Division remain safe and protected“.
The items donated will go a long way to add to what the various councils have been doing together with the donations from the Head of State to fight against covid 19. Till now no positive case of the virus has been diagnosed in Kumba.
