On 12 March 2023, the electoral college, made up of Municipal Councillors and Regional Councillors, shall elect Senators for the third time in the political history of our country.
- THE CPDMSHALL BE PRESENT…
As in the past and as per tradition, the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) shall take part in the forthcoming election by presenting candidates throughout the national territory.
By so doing, and in keeping with its historical role as the compass of our democracy and a framework for the promotion of national New Deal, our Party intends to reinforce its contribution to strengthening the Senate as an actor of decentralisation, a pillar of local and regional development.
- …TO BUILD AN EVEN STRONGER SENATE…
After the inaugural period of 2013 and 2018 mandates, the Upper Chamber, representing local authorities, is now entering a new phase of its existence, that of the maturation of procedures, strengthening of its existence and the consolidation of its achievements patiently put in place during the two previous mandates.
Our objective is therefore to work for an even stronger Senate, with a view to completing decentralisation, guaranteeing an ever more dynamic local democracy and catalysing the socio-economic development of the communes and regions, in accordance with the law on the general code of decentralisation, promulgated by the President of the Republic on 19 December 2019.
- …WITH WELL EQUIPPED WOMEN AND MEN.
In order to address its set objectives in view of achieving effective decentralisation and the emergence of communes and regions, the CPDM shall presentcandidates with the right profile for the job.
- They are women and men with proven experience in their respective fields as well as proven political maturity. Many of them have contributed to the establishment of the Senate and are custodians of its memory.
- They are women and men who know and master the field, because they are attached to their respective territories, which they invest in,fully, on a daily basis, for outreach and development. They know the specificities, richness, diversity and aspirations of the people.
- They are women and men who reflect the sociological and sociolinguistic diversity of our territories.
- They are women and men whose simple nomination reminds us of the desires of coming together, the spirit of sharing, promoting new generations and linking our institutions to the physiognomy of our Nation.
- They are citizens of commitment, loyalty and fidelity to the institutions of the Republic.
- They are determined women and men, passionate about their country and attached to the ideals that underpin the model Republic encouraged by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA.
- They are men and women of discernment, who will know how to avoid the pitfalls of division and make the Senate play the listening role, questioning and making suggestions that are proper to a healthy and productive democratic game.
- ONLY ONE POSSIBLE AND USEFUL VOTE: VOTING FOR THE CPDM LISTS.
The lists of candidates that the CPDM shall present in all the regions for the election of 12 March 2023 shall be made up of women, youths and men of transversal experience, at the crossroads of generations, reflecting the diversity of our Nation, strongly attached to their territories, endowed with both the appropriate intellectual means and social capital to take up the challenges inherent in the consolidation of the status of the Senate.
So, the only vote that is worthwhile, the only useful vote, the only vote that guarantees peace, security, stability and unity, the only vote for an ever stronger Senate, is the vote for the CPDM lists.

- You have been mandated by Cameroon’s people to ensure the conduct of the affairs of the Regional and Local Authorities.
- You are aware of the expectations of the people, the legitimate aspirations of the youth, especially in terms of employment, education and health, the priorities of the people in the most remote parts of our beautiful country.
- You also know the needs and potential of the Communes and Regions.
- You know the profiles that are needed to constitute a Senate that is equal to the current challenges. It is up to you to decide on the new configuration of the Senate.
